Need Help? We've Got Answers

1. How does Sentry’s WatchDog NT work?

WatchDog NT is designed to give you real-time visibility into your remote operations—no matter how far off the grid they are. Here’s how the system works in a typical scenario:

1. Something goes wrong onsite
An environmental event, equipment failure, or power disruption occurs—like a compressor going down due to a storm or power outage.

2. WatchDog detects the issue
The system automatically identifies the anomaly and sends a real-time alert using satellite communication (no Wi-Fi or cell service needed).

3. You get notified immediately
Alerts are sent via text message, email, or phone call to designated team members, so they’re never caught off guard.

4. Automated safety protocols kick in
The system can trigger connected devices—like activating a safety valve—to prevent further damage, downtime, or environmental risk.

5. You take action with context
With full visibility and real-time data, your team can remotely assess the situation, determine urgency, and schedule a site visit only if needed.

2. Do I need Wi-Fi or cellular service to use Sentry?

No. Sentry products like WatchDog NT use satellite communication and are backed by battery or solar power. That means you don’t need Wi-Fi, cellular coverage, or IT infrastructure—making them reliable even in the most remote or off-grid locations. However, if you prefer, you can also set them up to use Wi-Fi or cellular networks where available. The satellite option simply ensures connectivity when those aren’t.

3. What types of industries are Sentry products built for?

Sentry is designed for industries that rely on remote or hard-to-reach assets and need continuous visibility. Common applications include:

Oil & Gas – pipelines, tanks, compressors, and well sites
Agriculture – irrigation systems, pumps, and water management
Water & Wastewater – remote tanks, lift stations, and treatment facilities
Industrial & Utilities – power, mining, and manufacturing equipment monitoring

4. What kind of alerts will I receive and how are they delivered?

You’ll receive real-time alerts for the specific conditions being monitored—such as equipment downtime, tank levels (too high or too low), pressure or temperature thresholds, or power status. Alerts are delivered directly to you via text message, email, or phone call, so your team knows immediately when action is needed.

5. How easy is it to install and maintain Sentry’s products?

Sentry products are built for simple, low-maintenance operation. Installation is quick—no complicated IT setup, trenching, or networking required. Devices are battery- or solar-powered, ruggedized for harsh environments, and designed to run reliably with minimal upkeep. This makes them cost-effective and easy to maintain, even with small teams or limited onsite access.
